Tyson Matsumoto, PT, DPT

Physical Therapist

Tyson has always been fascinated by the inner workings of the body. He is certified as an Orthopedic Specialist and provides patients with in-depth knowledge about the assessment and treatment of orthopedic conditions.

As an undergraduate student, Tyson majored in Biology with a concentration in Neuroscience at Williams College in Massachusetts. He then received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Southern California. After graduating and working in a private clinic, he realized he wanted to pursue more specialized knowledge in orthopedics and returned to USC for a year-long residency program. During that year, he worked part-time in a USC outpatient physical therapy clinic, studied a variety of manual therapy techniques, helped teach Anatomy and Therapeutic Exercise classes, and worked as coordinator for a research project investigating the impact of a mindfulness intervention on post-surgical outcomes.

Tyson enjoys being outdoors, whether in the mountains or by the ocean. He loves surfing, but also finds great peacefulness in a delicious cup of coffee and a good book. He enjoys traveling and exploring new places. He is deeply interested in learning new ways to strengthen the body, train the mind, and move better.
