Raisa Garcia, PhD

Psychologist

Raisa works in an integrative way, using primarily Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) principles and interventions. She believes everyone has value and purpose in life. She believes values drive words and actions, and that sometimes people need to check in on whether or not they are living according to their values. She likes helping people get back in touch with their values by encouraging them to decide if making a change is wanted or needed. Professionally, Raisa also enjoys doing couples therapy.

Raisa’s clinical internship and fellowship focused on two psychology areas: (1) brief interventions for mental health and relationships in a primary care setting, and (2) behavioral medicine (e.g., conditions with overlapping medical conditions and psychological components such as chronic pain, sleep disturbance, sexual dysfunction, weight management, etc.). Raisa always strives to work in integrated care settings where she can work side-by-side with other disciplines. She believes in holistic care. At Crossover Health, she wants to continue developing a very unique, innovative, and effective way of providing services, and to become a model for others.

In her free time, Raisa likes to move, move, move! This can be in the form of dancing, biking, hiking, running, and skating. She also likes sitting and reading a lot. In her free time, she enjoys binge watching the show “90 Day Fiancee.”
