James Leonard, DC
James chose to become a chiropractor because the practical, hands-on approach to healthcare made sense to him. As a life-long athlete, he’s had his fair share of injuries, and through many recoveries, he’s grown to appreciate how impactful physical medicine can be.
He’s incredibly passionate about spine pain management and helping members and friends learn how to find sustainable solutions for chronic issues. He also specializes in chronic pain management, sciatica treatment, and movement-based therapies. While attending Palmer he completed a VA clerkship in Erie, Pennsylvania, and when he was starting his clinical practice in Utah, he served as a member of the Utah Coalition of Opioid Overdose Prevention task force and as an instructor of the Living Well with Chronic Pain self-management series.
An avid outdoor adventure and endurance sports enthusiast, James spends as much time as he can skiing, mountain biking, kite-boarding, and dabbling in triathlons.

What makes me unique:
I grew up on a farm in Stafford, Virginia. I’m a particular combination of nerdy, athletic, and well-traveled, and that group of characteristics has led me down some very interesting paths. I’ve camped on five of seven continents and have developed a useful skill set of suffering management. I’m also a proficient Clawhammer Banjo musician and enjoy all things music and art.
Why do I practice healthcare:
There is no better feeling in the world than helping someone solve a particularly burdensome problem. Being a healthcare provider allows me to spend each of my days getting to know people and helping them work on bettering themselves.
