Colette Micko, MS, RDN

Health Coach

Colette has always been interested in finding out what makes someone tick and what motivates them. She takes a whole person approach to counseling because there are so many factors that can influence a person’s nutrition and physical activity patterns. Colette listens to what her patients have to say, and puts them in the driver’s seat when creating health goals. Her philosophy is to help others rediscover a healthy relationship with food through mindful eating practices, and cooking whole foods that help heal the body from the inside out.

A certified diabetes educator and American Council on Exercise personal trainer, Colette began her career as a clinical dietitian at Cedars Sinai in Southern California. Shortly after, she found her niche in an outpatient setting where she coached clients to make nutrition-related behavior changes. Her specialties include diabetes, hypertension, sports nutrition, and weight management. She also has seven years of experience leading onsite employee wellness events and working as a personal trainer and group fitness instructor at Sony Pictures.

Originally from Santa Maria (a small town on the California Central Coast), Colette enjoys spending her free time chasing her two toddlers around, trail running, and cooking.

What makes me unique

I grew up in a farming family—most of my childhood was spent out in the backyard tending to the farm animals, or running around in the vegetable fields. Also, I was on the collegiate triathlon team, and love any physical activity that keeps me outside in nature.

Why I practice healthcare

I believe that finding optimal health is key to living a happy life. I love getting to know each and every patient, learning about their background and what motivates them, and working with them to reach their health goals.
