Instructions
- Soak 3 cups of brown rice in water and set it to the side.
- Heat 2 tbsp of olive oil in a pot. Add diced turkey bacon and 2 tbsp. of Sofrito.
- Once turkey bacon is cooked add tomato sauce, gandules, Sazon seasoning, garlic powder, cumin, oregano, turmeric and salt & pepper to taste. Stir.
- Drain the water from your brown rice and add the rice to the pot. Stir.
- Add water to the pot and stir, there should be about an inch from the top of the water level to the rice
- Bring the pot to a boil, then simmer and cook uncovered for about 10 minutes, until the water evaporates. Do not stir.
- Cover and place on low for 20-25 minutes, then stir.
